Nissa Newton is the mother of Peanut (1985 – 2015), a beautiful, intelligent, cockatiel, whom lived into old age and received extraordinary care by way of Nissa’s huband Joe, who hand fed her water for the last two years of her life, bathed her regularly, taught her to lay on her back to avoid bed source from her arthritic feed and made her a hammock to sleep in when she could no longer perch. Peanut was a part of Nissa’s youth and adult life as mother. There are so many stories that can be told about this lovely bird. More can be found on her Facebook page and YouTube Channel.
